With the Terra Inca Summer 2001 collection, Guerlain released 3 limited edition cream eyeshadows called Ombre Fusion. These are water-resistant metallic colors that come in a tube with a doe foot applicator.
Since I love cream eyeshadows (in case you didn't notice) (but then what kind of makeup item don't I love?), I decided to get one to try it.
The 3 colors available - glamorously named # 1, 2 and 3, are a light pink, a kaki bronze and a coppery taupe. Since I never wear pink, I wanted to chose between # 2 and #3. Even though the coppery taupe was gorgeous, it reminded me too much of some other products I own and I chose #2.
(Someone whispers in my hear that they have a prettier name too, #2 would be Havana, the 2 others would be Bahia and Maya.)
I am wearing it on those pictures, blended with a 217 brush over a tad bit of Bobbi Brown Galaxy cream eyeshadows, and with a Prestige Total Intensity pencil liner in olive.
This product is quite creamy, and much easier to blend than the Chanel Ombre d'Eau for example. But I must also say that they set very quickly, so you have to work fast. If you try to blend more when it's set, it tends to flake a bit.
I find that the pigmentation is quite good. It can be sheered a bit if you blend the product, but if you concentrate the product, it's pretty pigtemented. It has a tiny bit of gold sparkles running through it but nothing out of the top, really. You can see a good swatch here over at Delicate Hummingbird.
I wouldn't say this cream shadow has a molten metal vibe like, say, Illamasqua Liquid Metals would have, but the sparkles do give it some nice dimension.
Also, unlike the Chanel Ombre d'Eau, Guerlain Havana didn't sting or irritate my eyes at all.
Oh, and this looks work with my glasses, too :-)
FYI, foundation is Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B10, and lipstick is Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Rebelle (love the color, hate the smell and the texture). Blush is a mix of Mac Soften The Mood (back of the cheeks) and Mac Warm Soul.
Do I recommend them? Well if you don't have any similar color and like cream eyeshadows, they're definitely a nice splurge. They're a no-brainer in terms of usability, they're pigmented and they last well (over a primer, for me, as per usual)
Guerlain Ombres Fusion are limited editions and retail for USD 35 - € 29.
